Bonus tracks Selotape Frankenstein unearthed

Thursday, February 20th, 2014

Selotape bonusFor the first time since their recording between 1998 and 2001, 12 bonus tracks can be heard. Three years ago I came across a cassette tape with ‘Pondertone live’ written on it. It happened to be a recording of my very first live appearance as such in 2001, presenting my debut album Selotape Frankenstein at O’Leary’s Irish Pub Utrecht. In the following weeks I dug deep into the Pondertone Archives and found loads of unreleased material. It’s with a mixture of melancholy and wonder that I present the magical Time Machine also known as ‘bonus tracks to Selotape Frankenstein’. Enjoy…

Warning: Selotape Frankenstein has come to Spotify

Tuesday, January 14th, 2014

1Selotape Frankenstein3 years after it’s release our debut album Selotape Frankenstein has been (re)mastered and uploaded to Spotify.

It sure ain’t funny how time flies. A little over fifteen years ago I moved to Utrecht and started working on a couple of tracks that would eventually lead to the birth of Pondertone in 1998 and the release of Selotape Frankenstein in 2001. The album received exactly three reviews, all of them positive and promising. (Thank you GUN Magazine, LiveXS and another one I can’t remember) Nevertheless it sold no more than 35 handcrafted CD-copies, the other 15 were given away to my friends who helped me along the way and sent to magazines and record companies (only one of them replied, thank you Excelsior Records). As far as I know none of the CD-copies still plays today.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Monday, December 10th, 2012

Pondertone celebrates the festive season once more. This time with a cover of the all time classic tearjerker ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’ originally recorded by Judy Garland for the movie Meet me in St. Louis. Patrick Tersteeg and Michel van der Woude arranged and provided all the sounds and noises. Michel also made and directed the video. Enjoy!

Fate Presto shelved

Friday, September 9th, 2011

After six years of toil and sweat Pondertone have decided to shelve the Fate Presto project indefinitely. Although the album was well underway to being finished, Patrick and Tom felt they were losing touch with the material. Certainly Pondertone will continue working on the album somewhere in the future, but untill then will focus on the new new album ‘From Now On’.
