Pondertone

After the success of Gluren Bij De Buren (Peaking in at the neighbours’) in Utrecht we’ll be performing at the edition in Haarlem. 20 march we’ll play three acoustic sets in the living room of Patricia Gravemaker. Times: 13.00, 14.30 en 16.00. Adress: Gierstraat 77A Rood Haarlem. We’ll also play our version of Quicksand -original by David Bowie- again. Here you can watch a clip of our version of that song as we played it in Utrecht.

Sunday afternoon 31 januari we’ll be playing in our own living room as part of the festival Gluren Bij De Buren (Peaking At The Neighbours). Times: 14.30, 16.00 and 17.30. Free entry (voluntary contribution much appreciated). Shaky the cameraman made a preview at the rehearsals. Watch it here.

Traditionally Pondertone reflects on Christmas. This year we reworked ‪‎Sandalen‬ a dutch song by fellow-Utrecht based band How to throw a Christmas party. With special guests Nora Iburg and Agnes Loonstra of Wooden Soldiers & Tom Swart. The song is about Joseph and Mary’s travel to Bethlehem. For the video I made drawings that were reworked by my daughters Mien and Lenna. If you buy ‘A very Pondertone Christmas’ on Bandcamp and supply us with your address, you get an original drawing as used in the video.

Our new album From Now On receives excellent reviews. De Krenten Uit De Pop even calls it “one of the best records at the moment”. You can find links to all reviews and interviews over at our media page.

Sunday, 5 July Pondertone plays a free concert at the Koekoeksplein from 11:30 am. Bring your own folding chair. Coffee, tea and lemonade is sold on site. Because of the Tour de France a TV screen will be installed for the images to accompany the music. Admission is free , but a contribution is very much appreciated.

Because of the Tour de France the city centre is car free. So please come by bike. The Koekoeksplein is a 15-minute walk from Utrecht Central, which is about as long as it would take you by bus.

On January 25 Pondertone will be performing in our own living room for Gluren Bij De Buren festival. Topics such as life, death, love and loneliness are combined with (mis)communication, dreams, drunken banter and wonder in this extraordinary musical experience. The performances are free to visit. After each performances you will be asked to make a voluntary contribution.

With our friends the Blue Grass Boogiemen we recorded a new Christmas song. It’s based on a song made famous by the O’Jays. The video is based on artwork made by Patrick and Mien. You can listen to all our Christmas songs on bandcamp. Merry Christmas!

Pondertone lives! 28 october we will play support for Harlan T Bobo in dB’s, Utrecht. Apart from Patrick Tersteeg the Pondertone band consists of Roel Jorna, Jeroen Pelgrom, André Wierenga and Michel Fenderwoods. Come and join the fun!
